E.B. Abel Jr. is the president of Resource Recovery LLC and president and CEO of The Abel Companies, based in Lancaster. Mr. Abel's strong work ethic was born during his childhood on a dairy farm in York County and reinforced during his years in the U.S. Army in the early 1960s. After leaving the Army, he entered the construction business, starting as a laborer and working his way up to superintendent before starting E.B. Abel Construction Co. and Consolidated Construction Co. In 1993, after more than two decades in Central Pennsylvania construction, he exited the businesses.

That "retirement" lasted just one year. Mr. Abel's next project, in 1995, was the development of the Bulle Rock public golf complex near Havre de Grace, Md. Always dedicated to being "the best," he hired world-renowned Pete Dye to design the course, which has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of only 12 five-star golf courses in North America.

More recently, after researching the dual U.S. problem of poor waste management and foreign energy dependency, he helped launch Resource Recovery LLC, with the mission of turning waste into usable energy.

Troy E. Abel is the president and CEO of Abel Construction Company, Inc and Abel Recon, LLC. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from Elizabethtown College. Mr. Abel has over twenty-seven (27) years of Site Development experience through involvement in projects in the Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and District of Columbia region. Those projects have included residential subdivisions, industrial/ commercial campuses, schools, health care facilities and golf course construction. His companies serve clients in managing and implementing site infrastructure as well as infrastructure rehabilitation. Mr. Abel has experience at all levels of the heavy construction business from laborer, pipelayer, operator, supervisor, project manager/estimator and V.P. of Business Development. As president, he is responsible for the overall direction of his companies and very involved with initial client contact and negotiation

Eric J. Barley is the Chief Financial Officer of The Abel Companies. He received a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Gettysburg College in 1981. Following graduation, Mr. Barley spent ten (10) years with Miller & Company, CPA's, a regional CPA firm in York and Chambersburg, PA (the firm is now part of Beard Miller Company, LLP). Beginning in September, 1991, Mr. Barley joined The Abel Companies as CFO and has been responsible for overseeing the company accounting departments and maintaining and developing insurance, banking, and finance relationships since that time. In past years, the Abel Companies included a general contracting firm (which constructed schools, warehouses, and industrial and commercial expansions) as well as the companies which developed and operated the nationally acclaimed Bulle Rock Golf Course, Havre de Grace, MD. All of these operations were under the financial supervision of Mr. Barley.
